Closing the Arts Education Gap
No matter how hard I tried to move away from arts education, it always found a way back in my life.
I decided to take the less traditional path and focus my efforts into bringing dance to students in public schools. I've been fortunate enough to work with amazing Community Engagement programs in the greater Seattle area for the last 10 years.
I've gotten to create dances with my students about Ocean Expeditions, Constellations, Fables, Story Books, Young Activists, and more. As well as choreograph for school musical theater productions like The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen, The Jungle Book, and The Wiz.
Through the arts I have seen students and classroom teachers alike open themselves to the creative process and allow their imagination to expand to create new worlds for their environment.
I cannot think of a better thing to do with my life. Arts education is my passion!
